In this second post about my collab with Ikea, I’d like to give you a closer look into my studio. As you can see in the image above, it’s quite a small space, where you enter straight into the living and sleeping area, with a small bathroom and narrow kitchen on the left. Despite the limited square meters and the lack of a separate bedroom, I immediately saw the potential of this studio: there are big windows on both sides of the space where light floods in thanks to the studio being located on the 4th floor and the arches divide the space into a sleeping and living area, while adding a bit of character.
Above you can see the images from the advertisement. The couple that rented this studio before me had quite a different taste than me and (as they were living here with two people instead of one) had brought a lot of stuff into this small studio. The dining table placed in the living room instead of in the kitchen, the dark curtains and bed with a huge head- and footboard, blocking the passage to the bathroom, made the studio feel a lot smaller than it really is.
Inspired by the images of last week’s post, the furniture I already owned (discover my previous interior here) and Ikea’s collection, I created this collage as a guideline for my new interior. White walls and white curtains as a blank canvas, light colored furniture, as little clutter as possible (that’s where the secretary desk comes in handy) and lots of plants of course!
