Two architecture students created the perfect notebook for the architects among us: it contains several sizes of grids so you can easily draw on the correct scale, but most importantly, it also is a guide with measurements of all frequently used building elements, design information such as line weigths and font sizes, technical guidelines for structures, architectural references and living scenarios of different kinds of rooms. Charles Sowers designed a kinetic installation on the facade of the Randall Museum in San Francisco, consisting of 612 rotating aluminium weather vanes, all moving individually and together visualising the flow of the wind. Pretty cool. (source)

Design studio Nendo is responsible for this pop-up Starbucks coffee shop in Tokyo. The shop resembles a library, where the book covers have nine different colors, representing nine different coffees. The empty books have explanations on the cover about the type of coffee, and by taking a book to the counter, clients can order the corresponding coffee. Even though I refuse to buy coffee at Starbucks (I prefer supporting the local coffee shops and I think Starbucks is way overpriced), I think I would have a hard time passing this one up… (source)

oh wat leuk die minibibliotheekjes! superleuke post!
Ik vind het bibliotheken/boekenconcept zo’n geweldig leuk idee! Ben er echt heeelemaal fan van :) Vooral omdat ik helemaal niet veel plaats heb voor boeken, maar wel heeel graag lees :) Ideaal dus!
Ik ben echt gek op die little free libraries, ik ga absoluut eentje zoeken in Amerika! :D En ik wou dat de frietkoten in onze buurt er nog zo uitzagen, nu is alles zo modern, meh. Oh en ik heb hetzelfde, ik heb maar 1 keer iets bij starbucks gekocht en daar blijft het bij, zo duur en overroepen. Maar deze ziet er wel verschrikkelijk cool uit!
Wauw die kinetische installatie! Ik wil hem in mijn tuin haha!
En dat architecturaal notitieboekje lijkt me wel iets heel handig (:
Hihi, die frietkot schilderijen zijn wel tof eigenlijk ^^ en over de laatste alinea kan ik ook wel aeggen dat ik het met je eens ben :) De verwenkoffies (lees: met maltezers, slagroom én karamel) van lokale koffiehuisjes zijn VEEL lekkerder én vaak zelfs nog goedkoper ook!
Hoe zalig is die bibliotheek! Ik wil dat ook hier ^^
Ik wil ook zo’n bibliotheek in Antwerpen!! En ja, ik ben dan al in Parijs! Nog geen idee hoe mijn planning er daar uit gaat zien, maar anders wil ik gerust is afpreken :).
